Week 10 EOC: Road Map to Success

Week 9 EOC: Creative Content

My creative content will be focused primarily on the packaging and design of my product. The way your product presents itself is crucial and highly important. You want to design a products image that will attract customers into trying and/or buying your product. "The first three steps in the marketing process—understanding the marketplace and customer needs, designing a customer-driven marketing strategy, and constructing marketing programs—all lead up to the fourth and most important step: building profitable customer relationship"(Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 13) So for my creative content I will displaying to you how my product will look. The designing of the package is very simple but engaging and will show to you my method of my product. Stay tune!

Implementation Evaluation Control

Implementation Evaluation can be defined as "The process that turns marketing strategies and plans into marketing actions in order to accomplish strategic marketing objectives."(Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 57).
The Who: This would be the Phineas Fogg Snacks company and all other companies involved in promoting, distributing, and purchasers.
The Where: Is the location where my consumers work and where my product is being sold. Where my services and promotions will be offered to.
The When: This is anytime my customers are at the grocery store or bar where my product is being sold. People will notice more and more of our product and decide one day to purchase.
The How: Begins with a short term goal, which is starting small and not over exaggerating on the product so much. The process will evolve marketing strategy, distribution methods, pricing, and implementation Evaluation. "Because many surprises occur during the implementation of marketing plans, marketers must practice constant marketing control—evaluating the results of marketing strategies and plans and taking corrective action to ensure that objectives are attained."(Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 58). 

Price

“To some consumers, “value” might mean sensible products at affordable prices, especially in the aftermath of the recent downward economic spiral. To other consumers, however, value might mean paying more to get more.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 9, Pg. 275) Value is important when looking at the price of an product, and because of this I want create an equal line between value and pricing. Since most Frito Lay products are dirt cheap to make because of the cheap and artificial ingredients, the price is also indeed cheap. Making customers head directly to the chips. My product is more fancier with the ingredients making the flavor and product valuable, bring that sense that you payed for the quality. “Customer satisfaction depends on the product’s perceived performance relative to a buyer’s expectations. If the product’s performance falls short of expectations, the customer is dissatisfied. If performance matches expectations, the customer is satisfied. If performance exceeds expectations, the customer is highly satisfied or delighted.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 9, Pg. 14) My product will indeed have artificial flavoring and preservatives but just a small amount where there will be room for quality and real taste. The corn tortilla that is the base for all the layering will be 100% real tortilla since it is usually easy to preserve corn tortillas naturally. Most seasonings will be natural as well.  “It’s important to remember that ‘good value’ is not the same as ‘low price.’” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 9, Pg. 276)

Promotion

  “The promotion mix is the marketer’s bag of tools for communicating with customers and other stakeholders. All of these tools must be carefully coordinated under the concept of integrated marketing communications in order to deliver a clear and compelling message.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 5, Pg. 136) (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 5, Pg. 137) After the success of Phileas Foggs Mexican Style Taco Rolls, there will be a time where promotion will be offered to our consumers. A promotion that I would most likely choose would be to offer my product in Mexican restaurants or bars on the day of Cinco de Mayo. With every purchase of a tequila shot or margarita you will get my product for free!! as for the bar promotion. For the restaurant promotion the idea of the promotion is to have customers who buy a meal get my product for free as well. The point is to have people try out or taco rolls and bring in new consumers with that very first try. “Personal presentation by the firm’s sales force for the purpose of making sales and building customer relationships.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 5, Pg. 136) (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 5, Pg. 377) One way to build customer relationships is to step outside business mode and reach out to your consumers in special ways or offering exclusive promotions and sales. The type of marketing strategy I will implement about our special promotion will be through commercials in select local states and local restaurants that are highly popular. "tools used to communicate with consumers. For example, advertising includes broadcast, print, Internet, outdoor, and other forms. Sales promotion includes discounts, coupons, displays, and demonstrations. ” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 12, Pg. 377)

Distribution

"Companies can design their distribution channels to make products and services available to customers in different ways. Each layer of marketing intermediaries that performs some work in bringing the product and its ownership closer to the final buyer is a channel level. Because the producer and the final consumer both perform some work, they are part of every channel." (Marketing, an Introduction, Ch. 10, Pg. 311) For distribution, I've decided to implement the "direct marketing channel" strategy because  I want my channel to be direct and be offered as soon as possible to my consumer. My idea is to work with a small business that is able to manufacture and package my product out to various locations. "Few producers sell their goods directly to the final users. Instead, most use intermediaries to bring their products to market. They try to forge a marketing channel (or distribution channel) — a set of interdependent organizations that help make a product or service available," (Marketing, an Introduction, Ch. 10, Pg. 311)

Product

“Consumers usually face a broad array of products and services that might satisfy a given need. How do they choose among these many market offerings? Customers form expectations about the value and satisfaction that various market offerings will deliver and buy accordingly. Satisfied customers buy again and tell others about their good experiences. Dissatisfied customers often switch to competitors and disparage the product to others.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 7, Pg. 107) With an over populated well-known market for chips/snacks, a good product is hard to manage and introduce. By making my product stand out among other brands, my product stands to be more natural and also affordable like most Frito brands. On the back of my chips there will be community fair trades where it will show where we get all our ingredients from. The corn tortillas, chipotle seasoning, avocado powder, etc. “Smart marketers look beyond the attributes of the products and services they sell. By orchestrating several services and products, they create brand experiences for consumers.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 7, Pg. 107)

Target Market Strategy

“A target market consists of a set of buyers who share common needs or characteristics that the company decides to serve. Market targeting can be carried out at several different levels… companies can target very broadly (undifferentiated marketing), very narrowly (micromarketing), or somewhere in between (differentiated or concentrated marketing).” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 6, Pg. 186) Marketing to a specific target market is tricky. My customer is someone who loves snacks and loves to try new flavors rather than old dingy flavors. My product has to perfectly balance with my target customer in order to expand our product. “To design a winning marketing strategy, the marketing manager must answer two important questions: What customers will we serve (what’s our target market)? and How can we serve these customers best (what’s our value proposition)?” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 6, Pg. 9) I'll be marketing to two specific categories: Bars and Grocery stores. “Top marketers all share a common goal: putting the consumer at the heart of marketing. Today’s marketing is all about creating customer value and building profitable customer relationships. It starts with understanding consumer needs and wants, deciding which target markets the organization can serve best, and developing a compelling value proposition by which the organization can attract, keep, and grow targeted consumers.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 6, Pg. 2)

Situation or SWOT Analysis

“The company should analyze its markets and marketing environment to find attractive opportunities and identify environmental threats. It should analyze company strengths and weaknesses as well as current and possible marketing actions to determine which opportunities it can best pursue. The goal is to match the company’s strengths to attractive opportunities in the environment, while eliminating or overcoming the weaknesses and minimizing the threats. " (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 54)
“Strengths include internal capabilities, resources, positive situational factors that may help the company to serve its customers and achieve its objectives." (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 54) Phileas Fogg has the capability to expand its products to a wide array of unique cultures as unique to it's taste. Phileas Fogg's flavors our gathered from around the world to unite everyone and share cultures and exotic taste. "Weaknesses include internal limitations and negative situational factors that may interfere with the company’s performance." (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 54) As far as any weaknesses, Phileas Fogg isn't a popular brand, nor is it widely known. Unlike brands such as Frito Lay, which has unlimited images and flavors and valuable prices. It makes other brands hard to compete with. "Opportunities are favorable factors or trends in the external environment that the company may be able to exploit to its advantage." (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 54) "And threats are unfavorable external factors or trends that may present challenges to performance.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 54) Since most people who don't know the brand and it's existence, it might be quite hard to achieve our target market since most chip/snack lovers generally go for common popular chips with known brands and styles.

Objectives

“The company needs to turn its mission into detailed supporting objectives for each level of management. Each manager should have objectives and be responsible for reaching them.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 39) My goals for this product, like most companies branding out new products is to start small. One short term goal is to focus more on marketing to make my products known. First by selling my product at select grocery stores with a small inventory, second by marketing my product in local bars. “This broad mission leads to a hierarchy of objectives, including business objectives and marketing objectives.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 39) Eventually over the success of the product, the process would continue to grow, offering my product in more bars, grocery stores, more marketing such as TV ads and billboards.

Business Mission Statement

You must create the perfect mission statement because it defines what your company's products will represent. “Many organizations develop formal mission statements that answer these questions. A mission statement is a statement of the organization’s purpose—what it wants to accomplish in the larger environment. A clear mission statement acts as an “invisible hand” that guides people in the organization.” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 39) My business is food.  My target customers are bar enthusiasts but also those who enjoy exotic snacks, chips. “Mission statements should be meaningful and specific yet motivating. They should emphasize the company’s strengths in the marketplace. ” (Marketing: an Introduction, Ch. 2, Pg. 39) Mission Statement: Here at Phileas Fogg, we are devoted to bringing you the finest ingredients followed by the most enriched exotic flavors making everyone come together to enjoy exquisite tasting chips from around the word.

Week 7 EOC: The Pitch- Phileas Fogg's Mexican Style Taco Rolls

Snacks are highly common with beer, but picking the right snack to pair up with beer is tricky. In terms of consistency and flavor, Phileas Fogg's Mexican Style Taco Rolls will be infused not only with creamy chipotle but also guacamole and spicy cheesy nacho, adding that one special kick to taco rolls. Of course they're will be preservatives and artificial flavors added to keep these taco rolls on a healthy shelf life and more cheap to produce. My philosophy behind the pitch is personal experience. I've noticed in my Mexican culture that there is a huge demand for tacos after a long night of consuming beer. Usually beer such as Corona, Modelo, and Dos XX go hand in hand with tacos. I wanted to create the similarity of the best taco you've ever had with the creation of street taco rolls that are easily edible in a bar next to your favorite beer.

Week 6 EOC: Three Things That Define Me

If there are three things that define me, you would have to engage with me in a deep intellectual conservation to know exactly what those three things are. Getting to the point, I'm a person who is very passionate and loving. Art- if you walk into m apartment, you'll see that I'm creative and love design by the painting that I choose to display. I'm a fan of Salvador Dali and Frida Kahlo and the way they used subliminal surrealism through their there painting that were actually hints of their real life. The way I dress- You can tell by looking at me that I actually do put effort in looking nice. I believe that the way I dress has a way of defining me the way others are defined by a certain characteristic as well. The way I dress often changes in various styles going with my personality and what I like. Lastly: My work is the biggest representations of what defines me. I take my work serious and you can define me by the way I talk, move, and design. I've been told that work seems noticeable by who did it mainly because I implement what I love to every project that is handed to me. For example: My favorite movie is Beetle Juice, and I love that movie especially because of the way the house is designed and how different and modern the clothes look. I implemented some styles and designs from the movie itself and created a 12 piece collection called Nostalgic. Everything I create is a reflection of not only who I am but what kind of worker and how motivated and creative I am as well.

“Facebook is really a platform, not an application. While LinkedIn is being run like a data-driven application, Facebook is really a sharing platform from which many companies can build applications”. – Forbes
